I'm looking forward to listening to this show. I am having trouble with downloading the .m4A version using the supplied link. (However, downloading the mp3 version does seem to work.)

www.ironsaddcasts.mypodcast.comHe may not have been able to upload that version yet, the upload page is a generic form which is why the link would still appear- whether or not anything was hooked to it yet.

I'm having an issue downloading the MP3 version where I can't seem to get above about a 8kb transfer rate. Other sites are loading normally at much higher txfr speeds, so I'm suspecting a possible problem with the railcast server or a whole lot of us trying at once to get the new show...

www.modelrailcast.com/The server where I host the podcasts went down. It is being worked on. In the mean time you can get show 89 from iTunes or at
Show89 MP3 and Show89 AAC |

Good show!
Frank makes like constructing craftsman car kits is a breeze. I'm sure they are for him! Those kits take a lot of time to construct and require knowledge of railroad car construction and terminology (instructions aren't complete for the clueless). Best to start with easier kits like gondolas and work one's way up eventually to hoppers and cabooses. I don't believe most model railroaders have the patience to construct them. But WOW, they can result in stunning and unique models! Mark |

bobcatts2bits.blogspot.com/>the links to the latest episode are all sorted out<

I found the content very interesting, but the roundhouse was a bit hard to listen to as the volume of Frank's voice sounded louder than the others. Also, sometimes I couldn't tell if it was Bernie or Marty who was talking!

bobcatts2bits.blogspot.com/Tim, I could manually edit the links to get to the show from Ryan's comment post (above - not the show note's links), but the comment is still pointing at 88 (as of 16:08) No worries if the iTunes is working (which it is at the moment), just if someone was trying to grab the show from within Ryan's commentary.
Good job on getting another show out so close to the holidays. Thanks! |

snery.com I think anyone can build a resin freight car kit. And it's virtually impossible to accurately model freight cars before 1957 without learning how to build these cars.
If a full car seems too intimidating try one of the "conversions" - Speedwitch Media and Sunshine both offer resin "add on" parts that are added to injection-molded cars to create different prototypes. plastic bodies Don't paint the instructions with the same broad brush though. Funaro instructions are (usually) useless . . ."Build model, paint model, enjoy!" -- Ted's instructions (Speedwitch) are perhaps the best - as they are amply illustrated -- followed by Westerfield and Sunshine. |
|
I too am having trouble getting the M4A version of the show via iTunes. Both subscriptions in iTunes gives me the mp3 version. I hope this is fixed.
This was a great show. I really enjoyed hearing about the resin kits. Keep up the good work. Chris Z., St. Louis, MO |

www.earlyrail.org/SLNWesterfield sells a DVD on how to assemble resin kits. It's pretty good in content, but frankly I find Al's voice to have a tremendous sedative effect (and once fell asleep on the couch watching it...)

Enjoyed the show, the part about the freight car kits was very informative. I like the look of the holiday banner and would like to wish everyone a Very Happy Holiday.
